A brand-new company in Northampton County is serving up artisan sandwiches, cheesecakes, puff pastries, and other delectable delicacies that are a visual and culinary feast.

Agamon Bakery & Cafe

Specializing in unusual pastries and treats with a global flair, Agamon Bakery & Cafe opened its doors at 100 Northampton St. in downtown Easton.

The Commodore, a recently built seven-story mixed-use development close to the Easton-Phillipsburg free bridge, has the new site on the first floor. Partners Williamson Perez and John Acevedo produced a variety of freshly made sweet and savory treats, including gourmet cakes, crepes, croissants, and brioche loaves. Premium coffee drinks and other house-made beverages, like rhubarb matcha lemonade and lemon fig soda, were also served.

The Colombian-born Perez stated, "Everything is created in-house with high-quality ingredients, and we are really trying to focus on distinctive, international sweets." Agamon has a wide range of rich cakes, such as vino cake (wine, nuts, fig, papaya, and cherries), tropical cake (passion fruit, cream cheese, and coconut), lavender cake (lavender, raspberries, lemon, and yogurt), and passion fruit cheesecake. Both full cakes and cake slices are available for purchase.

Other delicious dessert options include red fantasy (pistachio, cream cheese, raspberries, and white chocolate), matcha brownies (white chocolate, pistachio, praline, ordinary chocolate, and almond), and agamon (caramelized milk and rum).

Additionally, there is a self-serve display cabinet where patrons can select different baked delicacies using tongs. Options include brioche loaves with cheese, chocolate, dried tomato, mozzarella, and pesto and bacon; croissants with flavors including plain, Nutella, and ham and cheese; and puff pastries with flavors like chicken, fig, and caramel, Hawaiian (pineapple, ham, and cheese), and pastel gloria (guava, caramel, and cheese).

We provide distinctive, colorful flavors," Acevedo stated. Because you actually can not find these items at most other bakeries in the neighborhood, the community is adoring it. Perez continued, "We have barely been open for a week, and we have already run out of products." "The neighborhood, along with other nearby business owners, is incredibly supportive of us, and we are incredibly grateful." The "Power Up" salad ($13.95–$18.95) and a few sandwiches ($13.95–$18.95) are also part of the business's soft opening menu. These sandwiches include the Lafayette ($13.95–$18.95) (ciabatta bread, cranberry sauce, cheddar cheese, arugula, turkey, and pickles), the "Intersection" ($11.95–$18.95) (multigrain bread, provolone cheese, honey ham, turkey, arugula, tomato, avocado sauce, and pickles), and the "Agamon" ($13.95–$18.95) (ciabatta bread, smoked salmon, arugula, goat cheese, green apple slices, prosciutto, fig sauce, and pickles).

A selection of savory and sweet crepes, such as cheesecake, Nutella, creamy mushroom chicken, and "The Maximum" (sweet and sour pork, pineapple, and vegetable stir-fry) are also available to patrons. The partners' long-standing love of baking came to a head with the opening of Agamon.

According to a statement on the company website, "Our enthusiasm for baking started in our home kitchen, where we experimented with different ingredients and techniques to make the ultimate pastries." We realized we had to spread our love of baking to the entire globe when our family and friends began raving about our masterpieces. Our staff of skilled bakers is committed to creating the tastiest, most distinctive delicacies that will make you desire more. In addition to providing counter and table seating, Agamon has a selection of coffee drinks that start at $3.50. Favorite options include the house specialty, Agamon (double shot of espresso and steamed milk with a dark chocolate ring coated with walnuts), as well as popular choices including Americano, cappuccino macchiato, cortado, and cold brew coffee.

In addition, there are house specialties such rhubarb matcha lemonade and black sesame latte, as well as hot and iced teas and lattes. The room combines soothing, natural elements like synthetic flora hanging from the ceiling with industrial characteristics like an exposed brick wall and silver pendant lighting. Additionally, the partners are honoring Easton by framing old city images.

According to Acevedo, Agamon's soft opening hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. These hours are expected to vary in the upcoming months. According to Acevedo, "people are also liking that we have late hours since it allows them to come and hang out with friends, do schoolwork, or just relax at a time that works for them."

The newest business to debut at The Commodore, a recently built seven-story building with 38 luxurious rental apartments, 14,000 square feet of office space, and an 8,000-square-foot rooftop restaurant, is Agamon, which also has outdoor seating.

The Commodore's rooftop seventh level is home to the restaurant Thyme Rooftop Grille, which debuted in December with a progressive menu featuring top-notch New American cuisine. Early in August, Clever Girl Winery, which uses domestic and foreign grape juice to create hundreds of unique wines and sangrias, inaugurated a new tasting area on the ground floor, just next to Agamon. The winery had a tasting room in Bangor for four years prior.
