Watch Out, Allentown! There will be a rise in property taxes in the 2026 budget that Mayor Matt Tuerk has proposed for Allentown.
A press statement from the city that the $245 million budget included a 3.96% increase to property taxes as well as a previously authorized $140 increase to trash fees. The yearly budget must be adopted by the council and the administration by December 31.
The city's Property Tax Lookup Tool, accessible at www.allentownpa.gov/budget, allows taxpayers to assess the impact of the planned property tax increase on their individual tax bills. At City Hall, the Allentown Public Library, the Lehigh County Law Library, and on the city's website, the public may peruse the proposed budget.
