Schnecksville's main intersection will shortly be transformed into a traffic roundabout.

The development will feature a business building, an AutoZone, a medical office building, and a Wawa with gas pumps. It would also install a two-lane traffic roundabout in place of the current crossroads of Routes 309 and 873.
The corporation is nearing the end of the State Transportation Department permitting process, according to Jerry Blecker, vice president of legal affairs for King's Real Estate. According to Blecker, work on the traffic circle is scheduled to begin before the year ends. At its meeting on April 1, the North Whitehall Board of Supervisors approved the development's preliminary/final plan. No additional township permissions are required for the project. According to Blecker, construction will start with the traffic circle.
After that, the business would give the land to the tenants, allowing them to start building by the middle of the next year. At first, Blecker thought he would start construction by September. He claimed that the lengthy process was the only explanation for the delay. According to Blecker, "it is a fairly extensive program." "We anticipated this would require a significant amount of work when we first started working with PennDOT a year and a half ago."
According to Blecker, "everyone has been incredibly accommodating. "According to a recent announcement by state senator Jarrett Coleman, a nearly $2.1 million grant from the state Multimodal Transportation Fund will pay for the installation of the roundabout. Coleman stated in a press statement that the developer will provide sidewalks and secure pedestrian connections. "Accident-prone" is how he put that stretch of road. Coleman stated, "There has been anxiety about this intersection for decades." "Building a roundabout and adding pedestrian-friendly features with state funding will enhance traffic flow and overall safety.
"I am hopeful that these adjustments will benefit the locals and provide a lasting solution to a problem in the neighborhood."
