The newest Italian spot in the Lehigh Valley serves up delicious pastas, gourmet pizzas, and more in an atmosphere perfect for families.

The Italian restaurant Vitale's, run by Sara Vitale and her parents Vinny and Maria, is located at 1120 Main St. in Hellertown. The menu has authentic dishes from Italy. Another Italian restaurant, Rocco's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant, was located at the Hellertown location before. Sara added that the Vitales' restaurant business experience spans over 30 years.

Under new management, Vinny's Pizza in Upper Macungie Township and Vinny V's Pizzeria in Easton, which were previously run by Vinny and Maria, are still serving the Lehigh Valley.

Vitale's Italian Restaurant

They are showcasing both classic and innovative products for our customers to appreciate. Bruschetta, garlic knots, rice balls, prosciutto, mortadella, soppressata, grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze are just a few of the appetizers and main courses offered by the Vitales at their newest Hellertown restaurant. Other baked dishes include veal parmigiana, manicotti, meat lasagna, gnocchi margherita, and meat lasagna. Their handcrafted dough and sauces are the hallmark of their standard cheese, Sicilian, and gourmet pizzas. You may choose between seeded and non-seeded Italian rolls when you order hoagies, which are stuffed with gourmet Italian meats like mortadella and soppressata.

For around $15.95, you can have a dozen gourmet pizzas in a range of sizes, with flavors including taco, meat lovers, vegetable, four cheese, penne vodka, chicken bacon ranch, and pesto prosciutto, among others. A filled pizza with meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and mozzarella cheese will be also available.

There are over a dozen varieties of hot sandwiches to choose from, including The Godfather, The Main St., and The Palermo Heat. The former features chicken cutlet, cooked prosciutto, ricotta, jalapeno long hots, and hot honey; the latter includes Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, provolone cheese, and fried onion. The latter also includes Cooper cheese, mozzarella bites, and vodka sauce. The Traditional Italian, The Vitale's Clubhouse, and The Vitale Special are all examples of cold sandwiches that can be eaten as wraps. Some of these sandwiches include ham, salami, capicola, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, and vinegar. The Vitale Special also includes turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and garlic aioli.

Vitale's Italian Restaurant

The long-gone Rocco's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant is now Vitale's Italian Restaurant, which is conveniently located next to Aloha Jay's Malasadas. Paul Zullo, owner of Rocco, departed from the restaurant sector not long ago.

At Vitale's, you may find booths and tables with seats that can accommodate around 30 people. The upcoming couple of months will see the installation of cosmetic upgrades, such as new furniture and wall paint.

Vitale's Italian Restaurant is open from Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays. They also provide catering, delivery through Slice, and takeaway. Info: 610-838-1414
