In the first half of 2024, the biggest mall in Pennsylvania welcomed five new eateries and eleven new stores. At the King of Prussia Mall, located at 160 N. Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, the new stores join hundreds of other retailers.

The following is a summary of the shops and eateries that have opened there this year:

Store Openings:

Armani Exchange: In June, the shop opened. The store sells apparel and accessories for both men and women.

Tecovas: Western boots and accessories are sold at this June-opened boutique.

Kizik: In June, the shoe store opened.

Forward: In June, the AI physician's office reopened.

Rothy's: In May, the store opened. Rothy's offers purses and shoes for kids, ladies, and men.

Evereve: In May, the women's apparel store launched.

Vuori - Activewear is sold at this May-opening store.

Grand Jewelers: In April, the jewelry store opened.

Mango: In February, the apparel chain launched its outlet. In February, the firm opened its first location here.

Little Word Project: In March, the jewelry business launched.

Abercrombie Kids: In March, the store launched.

Eating:

Nan Xiang Zia Long Bao: a restaurant that serves Jiangsu and Zheiang cuisine, as well as Northern Chinese food. It opened in May.

Saigon Eats: a Vietnamese restaurant that first opened its doors in April.

Gregory's Coffee: a restaurant that serves plant-based meals, packaged goods, fresh pastries, coffee, and tea. It launched in June.

In addition to several casual and sit-down eateries, such as The Cheesecake Factory, the mall features two food courts.

The mall is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A campaign is in progress to preserve a portion of the vibrant panels located on the Lehigh Valley Dairy structure. The famous building is being torn down; it has been empty since 1989. Melcher Brothers Masonry's owner, Neil Melcher, stated, "This has been here since." "This is historic."

To safely remove these brilliant panels from the Lehigh Valley Dairy facility, fundraising is already ongoing. Melcher declared, "We will save as much as we can." The building was once a silk mill and later housed a cooperative of farmers for many years.

Melcher stated. "Ultimately, our goal is not only to conserve this but also their memories." It has been a joint endeavor.

Melcher claims that a local got in touch with him and put him in touch with Whitehall Township Commissioner Jeff Warren. He reports that his team will be removing the panels from Wednesday through Monday, thanks to a donation of an 80-foot lift from United Rentals. However, according to Melcher, GoFundMe is raising money for material expenditures such as blades; the more money donated, the longer it will take to hire the required equipment and the more panels that can be removed and kept safely.

The panels are four inches thick on average. They each weigh between forty and fifty pounds and are entirely constructed of terracotta. It is challenging. A 14-inch-thick concrete saw is required," Melcher stated.

The Whitehall Preservation Society will receive the panels. "Perhaps they could be shared with the museum, the Allentown preservation group, or some other historical society..." Melcher said.

Lehigh Valley Real Estate is making history! It's continuing to shatter previous records for pricing, with three properties in Lehigh County and one in Northampton County selling for more than $1 million each.

During the most recent week of deed transactions that were accessible, which was July 8–14, the sales of the four area residences that exceeded the $1 million threshold were documented.

Newly built, affordable homes are coming to Easton! Less than a month remains until the first "flexible design" affordable house by the Easton Redevelopment Authority is set to break ground. This marks a significant milestone in the two-year process of purchasing abandoned homes, demolishing them, and preparing to construct new, reasonably priced ones. The city redevelopment authority is in the process of constructing over twenty affordable dwellings.

The redevelopment authority and the mayor have placed a high value on reserving lots for affordable housing because Easton is expected to see a large amount of luxury housing constructed. According to Michael Brett, deputy director of the Easton Redevelopment Authority, "it is about controlling it and creating as many chances within the community." Brett stated this on Monday.

Mayor Sal Panto Jr. claims that the city is attempting to accommodate working class families who are unable to afford to live in Easton. There is a shortage of "workforce" housing for those who are employed as teachers, police officers, or nurses, although the city's housing authority does supply 600 public dwellings for low-income people. Panto acknowledges that there is a shortage of homes at all levels.

According to Brett, the permits should be obtained in two to four weeks, allowing work at the 322 Coal St. vacant lot to begin in mid-August. The city's affordable housing task committee provided suggestions that the redevelopment authority is implementing. The task team presented a strategy in March 2022 for purchasing abandoned and dilapidated properties and turning them into affordable housing with $4 million in COVID relief funds.

The Redevelopment Authority intends to build six affordable homes on a property on Bushkill Street that will be disclosed soon. The properties include 28 S. Locust St., 21 N. Seventh St., 697 Prospect St., 504 Center St., and 138 Bushkll St. These properties are all going to be partitioned. According to Brett, the city plans to build 22–24 reasonably priced dwellings on the properties.

In 2022, the rehabilitation authority hired Philadelphia's ISA Architects to create the dwellings' designs. Instead of creating designs for every site, ISA developed a "flexible design" that, with a few little adjustments, works for any site. In order to establish a nonprofit housing authority development organization that will be known as HOME Easton, the redevelopment authority is still collaborating with the leaders of the affordable housing task group.

Although they are farther away from construction than the previously listed buildings, other properties are designated for affordable housing through the Easton Redevelopment Authority, according to Brett. The planning stages of 710 Line St. The condemnation process at 360 W. Wilkes-Barre St. is almost over. The city owns the land on William Street, and it must give it to the redevelopment authority. Building will not happen for a few years, Brett stated.

The 20 houses will at least assist 20 families in resolving the affordable housing shortage in the city. Brett stated that the issue is too big for a single government organization to handle. The Greater Shiloh Church is one of the community partners that the Easton Redevelopment Authority collaborates with to address the housing crisis.

According to Gundrum, it is made with a combination of hops that gives it "the best of both worlds"—the flavor profile of beer and the hydration advantages of water. He remarked, "It is extremely refreshing." With more outdoor seating, the area is now lighter and more airy. Inside, the dining room features a mural of the Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces have a distinct local flavor. The Famous Triple Chocolate Hill dessert, a double fudge brownie covered with vanilla ice cream, peanut butter caramel sauce, crushed peanuts, and whipped cream, 75 cents of every one sold goes toward funding the nonprofit organization CureSearch for Children's Cancer.

For the grand opening, there was a ribbon-cutting and first-pour ceremony to mark Iron Hill's official opening. It is located in Whitehall at the Lehigh Valley Mall's 950 Lehigh Lifestyle Center. The partners redecorated the interior of the restaurant and painted the building's façade. With space for about 40 patrons, Elias Grilled Chicken Over Rice is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

For the first time on Sunday, representatives of the Whitehall-Coplay School District unveiled the recently completed Gockley Elementary School located at 2940 MacArthur Road. For the kindergarten and first-grade students in the district, a two-story, 93,000-square-foot building has taken the place of the previous Gockley Elementary School at 2932 Zephyr Blvd.

Transition planning started in 2016, but the COVID-19 outbreak caused a delay in the project. In April 2022, construction finally got underway. The principle of the school, Denise Saylor, said, "It is almost indescribable, because it is taken so long to get here, the degree of enthusiasm to kind of see that we are at the end and we are moving into the new building."

Since its construction, the district has outgrown the old Gockley Elementary, particularly since full-day kindergarten programs were introduced. In addition to having more classrooms, the new Gockley Elementary offers larger classrooms that allow children to spread out more. An improvement in technology is also included in the new structure. According to Saylor, the addition of Smart Panels, whiteboards, and projector replacements to every new classroom will increase student engagement.

A STEM education room that is connected to the library is another recent addition. It will host science, technology, engineering, and math sessions every week that are project-based. Most of the people who visited the new building on Sunday were impressed with what they saw. A portion of the former Gockley will contain pre-kindergarten programs in collaboration with Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit, in addition to new offices.

There will only be one Gockley Elementary going forward, Saylor added, as the old Gockley will soon have a new name to reflect its new function.
